Elon Musk revealed this in a series of tweets. According to him, if you hold down summon button on Tesla app, your car “will drive to your phone location and follow you like a pet”.
Also, you’ll be able to drive your car from your phone remotely. That sounds like something from a James Bond or Iron Man movie. However, remote control driving works if you are in line of sight for now.
This adds a new dimension to autonomous vehicles. As a matter of fact, once again, science fiction becomes science reality.
Tesla Advanced Summon Compatibility
The new software is compatible with all Tesla models manufactured from 2016 with Autopilot hardware V2+. Those cars will receive an over-the-air software upgrade to have these advanced features added to them.
