Social media company Facebook recently launched the Messenger Rooms feature for their app, with this feature going live a couple of days ago. New reports surfacing now suggest that we may be seeing this feature from Facebook integrated into WhatsApp anytime soon.
A report from WABetaInfo says that Facebook has integrated messenger rooms into WhatsApp for Android with the 2.20.163 beta update. This update introduces a new Room option to the share menu which directs users to Messenger to create a room where you can house up to 50 participants on a group video call.
The shortcut for creating a Messenger Room is also available in other parts of WhatsApp. This feature is currently available to a small number of beta users in a few nations including the USA, with the feature expected to come to a number of more countries in the coming weeks.
As this is a beta update and is not available for users generally, you can test out this feature if you are interested by clicking on this link and following through with the instructions. Alternatively, you could also download and install an APK of beta version 2.20.163 of WhatsApp for Android from a reliable source.
If this feature is already available in your region and you clicked the link to help out with testing, you can let us in on your experience in the comments section below.
