Do not update your iPhone to iOS 9.0.2 before reading this

A number of iPhone users who have updated their devices to this version of iOS are reporting issues with their devices. Apple built a reputation around iOS with the phrase, “it just works”. In reality, it is not always so. iOS 9.0.2 clearly seems to be riddled with bugs.

Some of the problems being faced by users after updating include broken notifications, touchscreen going black or not responding, battery issues, loss of network data in certain apps, overheating during usage of some apps, and phone not turning off when required to.

While iOS 9.0.2 itself was released to fix some earlier bugs, it seems to have come along with bigger issues of its own.

One simple word of advice: do not update to iOS 9.0.2 yet. You never know what lies on the other side.

  1. Updated all of my devices, haven’t experienced any of these problems. Don’t know anyone who has (though I do know of iOS9 update problems), so this may actually be an issue for the few, rather than the many. None of us were expecting an iOS 9.0.2 update not long after the release of of iOS 9.0.1

I’m sure 9.0.3 is just around the corner.

  2. exactly, bug fixes are probably already in the pipeline. the bugs are probably caused by older hardware models’ issues with iOS 9

  3. In a bid to one up Android on the fragmentation mantra Apple have consistently pushed bug riddled updates to consumers which they then try to patch up by releasing yet more half baked updates, sometimes leaving their consumers with unusable devices..#ITJUSTWORKS

  4. I’m not too sure. A colleague had a problem when upgrading his 5S, whereas the one with the 5 had no problem. Didn’t have any problem upgrading my iPod Touch, which makes me wonder if it’s dependent on other factors.

  5. it baffles me why apple couldn’t develop a stable system that could perfectly fit into less than 10 different devices.
if they are contracted to develop an android update for zillions of hardware out there, any device that updates it will go in flames.
apple should always say good morning to Google when they wake, and goodnight before they sleep.

  6. lol, Apple don’t have to one up Android with regards to updates, they’re way ahead already

  7. But this article is like closing the stable doors after the horse has bolted – iOS 9.0.2 has been out for almost two weeks already, if not longer. Most people would have installed it by now.
