Aquos R2 Compact runs Android 9 software smartphone and it has two display notches stamped on the smallish, 5.2-inch screen.
A one-headed monster is bad enough, but a two-headed monster has to be a sight. If you dislike the notch, the AQUOS R2 Compact defies you with its two notches.
Yes; as if one notch wasn’t bad enough, we now have a cutting edge phone with two. And we think it is really hideous. At what point will we see three or four notches on a phone?
Why Two Display Notches?
If you are asking why the R2 Compact has two notches, the answer is that Sharp wanted to include a front-facing fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the screen without introducing a chin. So a second notch.
But take a closer look. We still see a chin down there despite the presence of the second notch.
AQUOS R2 compact Specs

That battery may look small, but considering that the display is a small 5.2-inch affair, we aren’t worried about that.
