Microsoft’s Internet Explorer may be hated for a variety of reasons, but its replacement for Windows 10, Edge, seems to be showing promise. For one, tests conducted by Microsoft have returned interesting figures. According to Microsoft, “Microsoft Edge is even better and is beating Chrome and Safari on their own JavaScript benchmarks”.
Here were the results when Microsoft Edge was pitted against Google’s Chrome:
- On WebKit Sunspider, Edge is 112% faster than Chrome
- On Google Octane, Edge is 11% faster than Chrome
- On Apple JetStream, Edge is 37% faster than Chrome
And this is on a pre-final build of the browser. It would be interesting to see Apple and Google respond to this challenge and run their own tests. In the meantime, let’s hope that Edge comes with even more improvements.
hmmn… could be numeric scam tho
So project spartan browser has now been renamed to edge. Stop the hype lets us feel it and comment
Justice, that was since now…
Am definitely one of those who dislike (with a passion, I might add) Microsoft’s internet explorer.
