0-160 km/h in 4.9 seconds: Porsche 918 Spyder

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a hybrid sports car that was first produced in 2013. It is no longer in production, as production was halted in 2015. But this roadster looks so good and is such a performer that auto buffs and collectors will still find it interesting.

Porsche 918 Spyder Brief Specs

Porsche 918 Spyder

Engine: The Spyder runs on a 4.6 litre V8 engine and two electric motors. The petrol engine can also charge the electric engine battery.

Range: Running on electricity only, the Spyder will run for only 19 kilometres. But on a full tank of gasoline and a fully charged battery, it will go for 680 kilometres. Lagos to Minna is 621 kilometres. Try that for size.

Acceleration: The Spyder goes from 0 to 160 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Damn. Do not forget to use your seat belts if you get inside one of these.

Top speed: 340 km/hour.

Porsche 918 Spyder Wrap Up

The Porsche 918 Spyder was acclaimed as the fastest accelerating production car in 2014. Yes; remember those seat belts if you ever get into one.

It cost from US$845,000 back in 2014 and was already sold out by then – yes; before all planned units had been produced. A total of 918 units were produced. If you can afford one, you just might be able to pick up a pre-owned unit from a bored big boy who wants to try out something newer.

    Glad to hear that.

Wao, at that kind of acceleration rate, and that top speed, I guess hell would become overfilled too damned quickly.

There should be a law against producing this kind of Machine!
