think they’re going the SONY C3 route, 8 MP front camera with flash. specs are decent. with the exception of LTE & NFC which aren’t big deals in their target markets. like the fact that screen size is 5.2″

45k for an Octacore processing system, 16mp and 8mp camera and you said DOA. If you don’t have the cash for it, then wait a little while for they are the best for now. I am a witness

Lotta tech people saying its going for #68, 000 in the market. Compared to my CUBE talk 9X(Octa core, KitKat, 2GB ram, 16GB inbuilt, OTG, Cloud Printing facility as well but 9.7inches) being 13, 000 shy though, I think the Phantom Z is decent as well for its price. One can’t expect these devices to fly for 45k in a market that even the Govt’s policies and tax rates want you D.O.A.

When will it be Available in the market seen is believing. Let’s have it feel it operate it and see hw it perform. So wen will it be in nigeria market?

Well, they’ve opened up for preorders at the price of N57,800. I think they will be launching the phone next week or next two weeks.

By the way, the stated internal storage capability on the site is 32GB. Barring the fears of durability and the general poor battery life of their phones, I think the Tecno Phantom Z is a very compelling device.

    and the general
poor battery life of their phones, I think the Tecno Phantom Z is a very compelling device.

The snippet above brought to the fore what I have always wondered about… what can be considered as poor battery life on a smartphone?

And when we say the battery life of a device is poor, what is the yardstick, benchmark? Are we comparing with the Galaxy Note III of this world?

Can we say a device that does eight hours of heavy browsing on 3G has poor battery life?

Yeah, maybe the term is ambiguous and maybe arbitrary too, but I’ve owned and still having another Android device with less battery capacity. In spite of its age, it’s two years older than the Tecno, it still maintains a decent battery life and most importantly it follows a predictable pattern in battery discharge, which is near linear by the way.

The Tecno phone I last used may behave well from say 80% battery level to 30% level and still under normal usage, it may drop from 30% to 7% within 5 minutes a and in the next minute, could drop to 1% and go off if you don’t plug it to power. that’s about the real problem I have with the phone

Two different battery capacities are stated, and a third from a source at the phone’s launch in Kenya, why is that please?
