TECNO Camon C9 4G tests

The TECNO Camon C9 is here (see full specifications). A mid-range 4G LTE smartphone with a 13-megapixel selfie camera. On this show, we are focusing on the LTE capabilities of the Camon C9 and putting it to test on the networks of Smile 4G and Ntel 4G. We are sure you are itching to see what we found out from our Camon C9 4G tests.

As you may already know, LTE compatibility is messy. That a device is specified as supporting a 4G network’s frequency bands does not mean it will necessarily work with it. So, for you, we conducted the tests.

Camon C9 4G tests

Smile: Camon C9 4G tests

We popped in a Smile 4G SIM, set the C9 to 4G only and in a few moments, it latched on to the Smile 4G network. Easy pie.

Ntel: Camon C9 4G tests

We popped in an Ntel 4G SIM and in a few minutes, the C9 latched on to the network.

In both cases, when we set the Camon C9 to 4G/3G/2G (auto) mode in network settings, it did not latch on to either network. We have added the C9 to our ultimate list of Ntel 4G compatible smartphones.

There you have it. The TECNO Camon C9 works on both Smile and Ntel 4G networks. Just be sure to select 4G only as network mode. Join us for our next 4G LTE tests. Do not forget to go through our archives for more 4G LTE resources. Use the search form at the top of the page. Cheers.

  1. Hi Cornelius,

4G LTE is not voice technology. It is strictly data. So, if you lock your phone to 4G i.e. 4G only, you will be unable to make or receive calls.

To be able to make calls, switch to Auto mode, so your phone can use 2G/3G for calls when you need it.
