A country phone code (also called calling code) is a number made up of one to three digits which you have to dial to make a call to that country. International Dialling Prefix (IDD) is a prefix-number that you have to dial first when making an international call from your country without going through a telephone operator. This is referred to as subscriber dialing of international calls.

When you as a subscriber makes a direct international phone call, you need to dial an international call prefix before the country code. The order of dialling these codes is: your country’s prefix-number first, the destination country’s calling/phone code next, then the user number you are trying to reach in the destination country. If dialing a landline in the destination country, you have to insert an area code before the user number you are trying to reach.
